"Great support given to my daughter at all times. Dorothy gives lots of encouragement to the students guiding them to find the correct answers. She gives fantastic individual feedback to parents." – G C

Religious Studies IGCSE (0490) Cambridge International Examinations

From the CIE course syllabus:
"The aims of this course are to:
-  promote an enquiring, critical and
    sympathetic approach to the study
of religion, especially in its individual
    and corporate expression in the
    contemporary world
-  introduce candidates to the challenging
and varied nature of religion, and to the
ways in which this is reflected in
    experience, belief and practice
-  help candidates to identify and explore
questions about the meaning of life, and
to consider such questions in relation to
    religious traditions
-  encourage candidates to reflect on
    religious responses to moral issues
-  enable candidates to recognize and
    appreciate the contribution of religion
in the formation of patterns of belief
    and behaviour."
Candidates must study 2 out of 3 major world religions and my groups study Judaism and Christianity. We visit appropriate places of worship as part of the course.

Please note that this exam only takes place in November each year. My groups meet from September until March in order to cover the syllabus and I mark mock exam papers for them the following September and October in order to prepare for the exam.

See this Facebook group I set up for those studying this subject.
